60' Easy - left the hill sprints because of the ache in the leg. Can hardly feel it today so that's good.

No issues apart from it was sleeting all the way round.

trail running (work/easy) 1:15:00 [2] 4.8 mi (15:37 / mi) +25m 15:23 / mi
shoes: Salomon SLAB Sense

Easy coaching session....

Legs are a bit tight from a heavy KB session last night.

When its cold I join in more to keep warm and have some DOMS coming I think.

The niggle is still there so I am just doing the minimum for now to protect it before the weekend run.

12 PM

trail running (moderate running) 1:10:00 [3] 7.5 mi (9:20 / mi) +350m 8:09 / mi
shoes: Inov8 X Talon 200

Moderate Run.

Some snow cover so used the forest roads up at Llandegla...

I can still feel the dull ache in behind the knee/top of calf, not so much running but afterwards. Muscles working a little harder to stabilise on fresh snow so cut it 10 short to see if any reaction.

There wasn't really, no better or worse.

6 PM

trail running (work/easy) 45:00 [1] 3.2 mi (14:04 / mi) +150m 12:16 / mi

Easy work session after KBs.

trail running (easy/regen) 40:00 [1] 4.0 mi (10:00 / mi) +50m 9:38 / mi
shoes: Salomon Speed

easy late run but had to be careful due to everywhere icing over after dark.

10 AM

road running (long run) 1:50:00 [4] 16.5 mi (6:40 / mi) +150m 6:29 / mi
shoes: Adidas Boston

15' Easy + Specifc Endurance: 20km Alternating 1km @ 6'15''/mile Pace &
1km @ 7'00''/mile Pace + 10' Easy

Movescount is fucked so I have not seen the data but this is about right...

You were right about the 6"15 pace feeling fast to keep up for marathon but equally 7 felt fine and I could recover well at that pace.

I did feel pretty tired on the last one or two but kept the pace fine.

I did feel a little bit of discomfort at the top of calf /back of left left knee so I eased down straight away and walked for 10 mins rather than run easy.

6 PM

trail running (work/regen) 1:00:00 [3] 4.6 mi (13:03 / mi) +50m 12:37 / mi
shoes: Salomon Speed

Easy coaching session - didn't do the strideouts after this morning wanted to see how the niggle was. Didn't make it worse.

Sunday Feb 4, 2018 #
