Sunday Aug 25 #

9 AM

trail running 2:00:00 [2] 15.4 km (7:48 / km) +634m 6:28 / km
shoes: Salomon Prototype

I am guessing that will be the warmest day for the rest of the year....

Lovely to run in the sun again and feeling much better although I did have a nose like a tap waking up....almost like an allergic reaction to something but it cleared on the run.

Took the dog and she made sure it was very easy...

Saturday Aug 24 #

8 AM

trail running 35:00 [1] 5.0 km (7:00 / km) +10m 6:56 / km
shoes: Adidas Boston

Just a short recovery run before heading out with family, had planned to run later in the day but was pretty exhausted when we got home so didn't get it done and rested.

Friday Aug 23 #

10 AM

trail running 4:35:00 [3] 37.25 km (7:23 / km) +1417m 6:12 / km
shoes: Salomon Prototype

Gone a bit rogue here, I won't have a chance on Sunday / Monday to do 6 hours

Felt much better but not 100% but couldn't face 6 hours of flat trail at race effort.

Last minute decision to nip up to the Lakes and do the top half of 'The Lap' instead.

Nice course, real mix of ground and took it easy especially in the first half.

Fully fuelled from the start with no issues and felt good afterwards.
3 PM

trail running 30:00 [1] 5.0 km (6:00 / km) +145m 5:14 / km
shoes: Salomon Prototype

Got off the ferry back in Windermere and realised I had no clue where I had parked the car...

Running around the side streets like an idiot trying to find it for 30 minutes

Thursday Aug 22 #

6 PM

trail running 1:15:00 [1] 8.0 km (9:23 / km) +235m 8:10 / km
shoes: Salomon Prototype

Took your advice but just did the group run, felt better but it was so humid I couldn't tell if I was sweating due to that or sickness.

OK afterwards so just a mixture I think.

Wednesday Aug 21 #

10 AM

trail running 1:20:00 [3] 11.2 km (7:09 / km) +191m 6:35 / km
shoes: Salomon Prototype

Feel rough but with more energy than yesterday....again thought I would start the session (6 x 60s uphill) and see what happens.

Did 4 that felt OK.....last two just didn't have the spring in step.

Just couldn't put the effort in required really but better than nothing.

Tuesday Aug 20 #

5 PM

trail running 1:20:00 [3] 12.0 km (6:40 / km) +225m 6:06 / km
shoes: Salomon Prototype

Had a restless night due to catching a cold from the kids, probably why I felt so tired last night.

No muscle aces and HR ok so I started the session (speed variations)

Got them done but tired/lethargic and sweating like mad....easy recovery was the group run after.

Just a head cold but annoying.

Monday Aug 19 #

9 AM

Canal Path 1:30:00 [4] 21.02 km (4:17 / km) +25m 4:15 / km
shoes: Adidas Boston

Progressive Run on Canal.

Think it went OK.....had to maintain pace/effort for a little in the middle but the last 5km was able to stay at marathon pace and below.

Lost a bit of rhythm having to dodge the cast of cocoon at one point in the last few KM but last km was around 3:40.

Was hanging in that last KM though.....

Enjoying the faster bits of running during the week.
6 PM

trail running 1:05:00 [2] 7.6 km (8:33 / km)
shoes: Salomon Prototype

Easy group run + drills

Felt pretty tired after the progressive run
