Easy long Run

Was due to be 2hrs but at 90 my leg / hip just felt a bit tired and an ache appeared in the adductor (I had this last time I did squats so won't do them again although not sure why)

Before that things were very easy on the mountain bike trails.

Things havent 100% settled from Duncan yet so wasn't worried about cutting a little short.

Easy + Strideouts

Still a niggle ache but hoping its from the treatment, running felt fine and a little easier than the last week or so - Strideouts were OK too apart from some heavy rain came in and made the tarmac / leaves a bit greasy to say the least

3 x 5' uphill tempo

Bit cold and damp so the 20 minute warm up was needed although the ground isn't great going in to the forest where they are harvesting so hard to get a rhythm.


Hill is nice and smooth though where I have done the long hill reps in the past ...I just started a little further up.

Effort was there each time and apart from feeling unfit things seemed OK.

I did a fourth but a bit of an ache had crept up so it wasn't quite the same effort - easy back.

I cannot say there was no discomfort but I wasn't out off at anytime.

Thursday Oct 8 #

Note

Went to see Duncan early and after the moderate run I didn't have any real discomfort...the odd twinge in the evening if I wad being really picky but no issues.

He was happy, doesn't want to see me again now (for this one anyway) but to send an SOS if needed....

The session was a lot more comfortable which was a relief.

The 'thumbing' thing I kept noting was the sacroiliac ligament (I think) which has been causing the irritation - he thinks I can try progressive / tempo sessions now when you are ready.

I hope the situation your end has improved, no rush with anything my end I will just crack on.

Group run but got there a little early , to get a bit more done.

Felt sore from Duncan but not like other times, running fine although a little tired if anything.

Didn't do the strideouts on the plan.

60' Moderate. + Strides

Scheduled for Thursday but decided last minute to do it today as seeing Duncan early on Thursday so though that best.

In short it went well.

Felt strong enough to keep the moderate effort up the whole way and it was bit of a tired hamstring creeping in more than anything towards then end.

Strideouts OK too - again left hamstring just felt a bit tired not the same feeling as the injury in the past.

Sunny too , almost felt like I was training!

Tuesday Oct 6 #

I can get to the football pitch now to do diagonals instead of variations so thought it best to try them.

Started out in shite weather but because the pitches have been looked after without anyone actually playing on them the ground is perfect.

Not too hard or soft and not cut up by the weekend players....

Running was good too , I eased in to each one but managed to hit full flight in the efforts without discomfort really.

By the end I could say I felt it but that will happen given I have not ran like that for months

Positive and looking forward to next week already on the grass strangely
