trail running 2:04:00 [3] 22.48 km (5:31 / km) +583m 4:53 / km
shoes: Salomon SLAB Sense SG

Legs felt more tired than yesterday and some Doms from Friday now nut again fine once I got going - below zero and the easterly wind cuts through on top so tried to stay in the woods more but that also slows you down as its MTB trails so lots of up / down and twists... light dusting of snow had made it slippy in parts too so effort not matching yesterday but topped off a good week

shoes: Salomon SLAB Sense SG

Took a few KMs to warm up and just make sure my calves etc were OK from yesterdays potentially daft run in the vivobarefoots but they felt fine - little tender beforehand but that was it.

Didn't really warm up too much its pretty cold here right now and dropping more apparently... happy enough, slight ache towards the end in the troublesome glute but not much.

trail running 1:42:30 [3] 24.08 km (4:15 / km) +36m 4:14 / km
shoes: vivo primus trail

I drove over the pass to the canal as the last few visits to the hill I haven't seen the police road block that had been present a few weeks ago but I did have a few shopping bags with me incase I got stopped - ridiculous I know but one of the advantages of being 30 minutes from the nearest supermarket is it gives mea good excuse.

I arrived in good spirits , could tell it was t shirt weather once warmed up but then I realised I had left my fucking HOKAS at home and only had my vivobarefoot shoes on.

NO way would I have time to go back and get them , and couldn't face driving home and staying local on the lanes after escaping the gestapo so made the decision to do it in them

If my achilles or calf decided to blow I would know and pull the plug but I figured I am not at too much risk.

First 2km I took it easier and warmed in to it then things were fine and effort felt good, didn't really have to think about the shoes too much until the last 15 mins when I could feel a bit of heat on the top of the foot but everything else fine.

On the hour I lost concentration , felt like it was taking for ever but then I seemed to settle again.

Long story I know for one moderate run!

trail running 1:20:00 [1] 11.7 km (6:50 / km) +404m 5:50 / km
shoes: INOV8 Terra Ultra G270

Very easy with the dog plus strides.

I drove up the hill as there is a perfect stretch of tarmac for strides, I was tired before them really but during felt good and they went well.

The fact I haven't had perfect ground for them for a while meant I had a bit of spring in my step each time and felt nice to run faster......for 20s.

Weight Training 45:00 [2]

Deadlifts , RDLS + Core

No rush bet when you get a chance can you send me any core exercises you would like me to do - then when I write core at least you will know.

I seem to be able to fit them in at the moment with everything else.

trail running 2:57:00 [4] 34.31 km (5:10 / km) +807m 4:37 / km
shoes: INOV8 Terra Ultra G270

I didn't leave until after 10:30 but I hadn't eaten yet so thought I may aswell risk it...

Run was good and felt strong enough not really looking at the watch because I needed the rain jacket on over it most of the time although it wasn't cold at all.

Before 2hrs I decided to stay out longer because I felt strong but also near bonking so wanted to get to that point ...rightly or wrongly I ran to about 27km when it hit and the last few KM home was a case of keeping up the effort despite a bit of tying up.

I got what I asked for but I have ran quite a few of these recently and not got there so thought it worthwhile - not sure if you agree on that or not but I looked after myself nutrition wise straight after and for the rest of the day.

Moderate + Strides

Snow was melting fast which wasn't that great really as yaktrax had broke and not enough for micro spikes ... kept the effort moderate but sometimes I was going backwards.

By the time I got back within a few KM from home the path had completely cleared meaning it was fine for strideouts ....the sun even came out for them and they went well.
6 PM

Weight Training 45:00 [1]

Some hip thrusts and squats to warm myself up ion the garage but then upper body and core.

haven't got a mirror in the garage but my bicep curls felt massive.
