Sunday Feb 14 #

road running 2:07:00 [3] 25.0 km (5:05 / km) +562m 4:34 / km
shoes: Hoka Rocket X

SE run

Had to do it on the lanes, the wind was that strong that it had brought the fence down in the garden so wasn't going to rush the forest.....trees are coming down all other place in there.

I still had to look out for branches but the effort was good on the road and was able to get some good climbs in with one about 25 minutes so perfect for a 20 min tempo or something.

Not as cold as the previous day maybe but still biting in the wind

Saturday Feb 13 #

road running 2:11:00 [3] 26.0 km (5:02 / km) +692m 4:27 / km
shoes: Hoka Rocket X

Freezing in the wind - had to have hand warmers in my gloves the whole way so glad to get it done.

No issues apart from that.

Friday Feb 12 #

9 AM

trail running 2:09:00 [3] 22.52 km (5:44 / km) +627m 5:02 / km
shoes: INOV8 Terra Ultra G270

Moderate run - had to be in the forest due to ice on lanes.

I have to admit to having breakfast before I went out, Wilder was up a few times and I had a bit of a headache so thought it best.

Good run just found it hard to gauge effort at the moment when half your energy is taken by keeping warm I think

No snow though so sure you have people much worse off.

Thursday Feb 11 #

10 AM

road running 1:24:00 [2] 15.0 km (5:36 / km) +150m 5:20 / km
shoes: Reebok Floatride

Easy + strides

No idea how it went....couldn't feel my legs , arms or face.

Strava says I did it though.

Wednesday Feb 10 #

cycling 55:00 [2]

Easy meet up with a friend - didn't take my down jacket off until 30 mins in!

9 AM

trail running 1:59:00 [3] 21.95 km (5:25 / km) +590m 4:47 / km
shoes: Salomon SLAB Sense SG

Good forest run , some light snow on top of ice in parts but nothing that sketchy.

My whole body felt the cold after an hour or so but apart from that no drama from Duncans treatment yesterday

Tuesday Feb 9 #

Just got back from an app with Duncan , its improved lots since a few weeks ago and treatment wasn't that painful at all today so both happy to just crack on.

I will keep doing everything I have been doing though as after the 3 hour run it did still ache so how it would react to an ultra I don't know.
7 PM

road running 54:00 [1] 10.0 km (5:24 / km) +150m 5:01 / km
shoes: Reebok Floatride

Easy run after Duncan - no issues apart from tiredness from travel etc

Monday Feb 8 #

road running 55:00 [1] 10.0 km (5:30 / km) +139m 5:09 / km
shoes: Reebok Floatride

60' Easy + strides

Was 10 mins short but did that so I could keep the strides as on a tight schedule today - very much a recovery run before the strides and didn't feel full of beans on them but still did them.

I had a down jacket on too to match my pedal pushers.
