Sunday Mar 28 #

10 AM

cycling 2:14:00 [4]

Hard hilly race on Zwift.

Had a very broken sleep with Winter not being well before bed then waking lots through the night - I ended up on the floor next to her so mixed with the weather when I woke up ended up on the bike.

Also meant I was on hand if Winter got worse but these are all excuses I guess....ultimately I could have gone out if I wanted to.

It was a long race finishing up their Alpe Duez so a decent effort.

I know you have just sent the plan but sessions might be moved around a bit next week - we are going to Anglesey for a change of scenery from Thursday - Sunday but only decided last night.

I am going to Snowdonia on Wednesday for the bigger elevation.

mountain run 3:05:00 [3] 17.5 km (10:34 / km) +1330m 7:40 / km
shoes: inov 8 X Talon 275

Went in to the mountains early expecting it to be busy but it really wasn't on the Ogwen side anyway.

There was a bit of snow on the car before I left so knew there would be at least some on the even higher ground.

Went up Pen Yr Ole Wen but didn't break out in to a trot until near the top and that was just because it bloody bitter up there.

I went that way because I know the route and could didn't want to trash my legs on the first trip out.

Last time I did this route I had that niggling glute / hip and thinking back now it was such a difference not having it.

Hiking properly was a bit of a shock to the system but apart from that felt really fit....did a bit extra down one side because its a lot more technical under foot and thought I should get my eye in while I have a chance.

Anyway...dropped down to Ogwen to make it back for 3 hrs which is about what I had before getting back for kid duty

Just enough time to grab some scones from Siabod cafe and nice to be back.

Easy / Moderate in the forest.

The weekend will be slightly off plan just got a few things on and want to get in to Snowdonia for Saturday but again haven't got all day.

Thursday Mar 25 #

trail running 45:00 [1] 4.0 km (11:15 / km) +50m 10:35 / km

Easy with the dog
10 AM

road running 1:50:00 [4] 18.7 km (5:53 / km) +400m 5:19 / km
shoes: Hoka Rocket X

1 mile hill reps

Much better session for this one than last few, maybe just a bit fresher or nicer weather helping but was able to keep a nice rhythm and wasn't clock watching all each time.... it kicks up at the end of the hill each time so you know how you're feeling once you get there....pushed on the effort a bit each time.

Wednesday Mar 24 #

5 PM

trail running 1:35:00 [2] 16.0 km (5:56 / km) +450m 5:12 / km
shoes: INOV8 Terra Ultra G270

Easy + Hill Sprints

In to the forest on a nice afternoon weather wise, nothing to report really apart from the hill sprints were a bit steeper than usual - not a bad thing but could get 10s max out of them each time.

Tuesday Mar 23 #

10 AM

road running 1:10:00 [3] 13.5 km (5:11 / km) +191m 4:51 / km
shoes: Hoka Rocket X

Hilly Fartlek

Just don't have time to travel for the diagonals on a Tuesday so did a hilly real structure but did some mixed efforts on the flat sections and the rest was very easy.

Legs felt good on the efforts , not like in the marathon training but if I glanced at the watch it was around 3:30 pace before I eased off with no drama

5 PM

cycling 1:07:00 [2]

Easy hilly ride

Monday Mar 22 #

trail running 40:00 [3] 4.0 km (10:00 / km)

Easy + strides

Still keeping it very easy and did the strides at half way next to the reservoir ....strides were fine but did feel tired running back but only from the last few bigger days more than anything.

cycling 45:00 [1]
