2hr+ Moderate

The Moderate kind of drifted to more of a race type effort I guess but not sure if if there is much difference?!

The words that stick in my mind on the moderate description is always fast but in control and it was that....

I thought it was a good chance to have some kind of gauge of a 60km effort on good running ground but a bit hilly and this loop of the forest is perfect.

I have even set up a strava segment for myself to see the pacing and out of three loops they were all within a few seconds .

Had a couple of gels with me too and the time just flew by to be honest..

The only grumble was from this bloody hip, felt it a few times and if I had pushed more or stayed out longer it might have been more of an issue - it ached a bit afterwards when I was just in the house but nothing too much.

The mobility in it is pretty poor though too from the adductor to the outside.

I am doing the hip strength stuff daily that Duncan gave me last time though too.

Its a shame because outside of that it all felt great.

Easy + hill sprints

Rain has made everything a bit muddy now but it mostly stayed dry at least.

There was a bit of walking up steep bits to keep it very easy as just felt a bit tired today - no real reason

Hill Sprints were OK although it was very windy where I had to do it so felt like I was treading water a bit.

Long Hill reps

It was freezing showers all morning and I really couldn't face going to the higher bit for 2km reps but did have a perfect 1200m rep so did that instead.

I did 4 but the rain got so heavy I could hardly see and then it turned to hail and I just bailed.

the four I did were good quality though

Could feel some hip discomfort on the fourth which seemed associated with knee lift.

Still hail stones throwing down every so often but a bit brighter...strides were OK but I am still wary of this hip a little ....did them as normal but just a bit shorter

Good to see you made it over the border!
