Running (Chelsfield 8) 57:29 [2] 8.0 km (7:11 / km) +103m 6:45 / km

I forgot this run can't be done in summer - paths hugely overgrown with nettles and brambles. The farmers are also having a bumper crop of wheat and I think canola - across most of the fields, I was bashing through what are supposed to be public pathways but instead were head high crops. So not much jogging, but nice to be out doing something on yet another stunning day. Started with a 10min walk warmup, so probably did about 40mins of jogging.

My legs & arms are now scratched & tingling tingling tingling :-(

Stunningly warm day, so that, & my increasingly sore quads from strength yesterday, meant I rode today rather than go for a run. But how was it a headwind the whole way out there??!!! I deliberately set a ride to minimise the headwind, based on the way the clouds were moving, but that was a total fail bc I battled for all but about 20mins today. Oh well. Character building. Went up to Tatsfield, then did Toys & Ide, home via Shoreham.

40s/20s x4 of: Fwd lunges, squat thrusts, seated twists (8kg KB), single leg deadlift (8kg), mtn climbers. Then same for: side lunges, deep squats, single leg row (8kg), step back lunges, squat jumps.

Running (Through the woods) 57:31 [3] 8.8 km (6:32 / km) +200m 5:52 / km

10 mins walk warmup again, then 47:31 jogging the rest (which was 2.5mins faster than last week, yay!). Actually ran most of today pain free, but I took pain killers so that's probably why. Right hip flexor started tightening up in the last hill, so there is still an issue there with my stride, but it was really really really nice to finally do a run that didn't hurt. I wore my orthotics today, which in the Speedcross shoes, is probably a bit on the high side, but it stopped my heel hurting. No issues from either calf.

Trying to do rides with more climb now, given the course for DD in France will be "testing" (as advertised), & finally incorporated Hubbards Hill from Sevenoaks Weald today. I'd rank it tougher than Ide & Bayleys, but still not as tough as Toys (S->N). Haven't tried Yorks yet. I can't see myself being able to do too many more rides with DD now, although I could realistically do interval & hill rep sessions with him, just not the long rides.

My ITBs are both really tight. Big foam roller session coming up tonight.
