Orienteering race (TVOC Street-O) 1:06:59 [4] ** 12.44 km (5:23 / km) +45m 5:17 / km
ahr:141 max:155 spiked:16/30c

Went for usual street-o tactic of targeting all the 30-pointers and maybe catching the others on the way round, but made a couple of blunders and ran waaaayyyy over time with still two to get out east. I don't know Thame very well, but it was good practice for this summer's urban race. #23 read the wrong clue first time and doubled back from #30 (+1:20). Made a parallel error for #13 in confusing estate (+1:20). Ran down a dead end after #39 (+1:20). Lost the correct path, without a compass, to #28 (+3:50). Faffing for the wrong clue at #19 (+1:10).

Orienteering race (TVOC Halton camp) 50:56 [4] *** 8.56 km (5:57 / km) +139m 5:30 / km
ahr:151 max:163 spiked:24/29c

Course 2, nominal 6.9km, 80m

Poor. Stupid route to #1, a couple of big errors (+2min to #11 and +40s to #16) and struggled to get going in the cold and wet. Loose description holder steamed up, so useless - would've helped avoid error at #11 perhaps. Not exactly "urban", even though this was a SEOUL race, more like a parkland Saturday, I was slithering about all over the place and should've worn studs rather than trail shoes.

14th/47, three places better than when I raced here in 2016, bah (1st Nigel B, 40:56). http://www.tvoc.routegadget.co.uk/rg2/#98&cour...

Put on four layers for my road crossing marshalling at 11 and just about managed to stay warm. It was that sort of day.
