Orienteering race (BKO Star Posts North) 1:35:57 [4] *** 12.68 km (7:34 / km) +295m 6:47 / km
ahr:145 max:164 spiked:21/35c

Black, nominal 11.1km, 290m

DNF (missing #12-#19)

Made a path choice error on the long leg to #12, ran off the map although the next junction which I was looking to turn at still made sense on the ground (although clearly it was the wrong path at this point: looks like there are two parallel paths with identical dog-legs in them, so that *really* confused me) and eventually relocated to #20 by just running north. Annoying, because looking at it now, I nearly ran straight past #12 at about the point where I gave up. L big toe very sore. Shins bruised, and splinters in my palm from a fall near the end.

Feeling a bit meh, also managed to leave #20 at 180° the wrong direction, but mostly taking the right lines after that although a big faff to find #30 (215) hidden in a pit.

Orienteering race (TVOC Street-O) 1:06:59 [4] ** 12.44 km (5:23 / km) +45m 5:17 / km
ahr:141 max:155 spiked:16/30c

Went for usual street-o tactic of targeting all the 30-pointers and maybe catching the others on the way round, but made a couple of blunders and ran waaaayyyy over time with still two to get out east. I don't know Thame very well, but it was good practice for this summer's urban race. #23 read the wrong clue first time and doubled back from #30 (+1:20). Made a parallel error for #13 in confusing estate (+1:20). Ran down a dead end after #39 (+1:20). Lost the correct path, without a compass, to #28 (+3:50). Faffing for the wrong clue at #19 (+1:10).
