Running - road or flat warm up/down 10:00 [2] 0.6 mi (16:40 / mi)

Orienteering race 37:56 [3] 3.2 km (11:51 / km) +65m 10:46 / km

Brown-X at the U.S. Classic Champs at Bear Brook, where I did my first orienteering in 1975. Pretty good run. Uncertain about where I was going to 5 until the long reeantrant showed up. Uncertain again going to 8, misjudged which stony spot I was at and plunged into the green beyond the control. Ran most of the middle of the course ahead of or behind MaryJo. From the trail junction to 9. Spiked 11! Almost a three minute lead in M70, and third on the course.

Running - hilly or rough 1:18:49 [3] 4.76 mi (16:34 / mi) +390m 13:12 / mi

East Pasture XC Trail to Black Mountain knob and cabin, including the top loop. A little added distance by missing a turn and ending up at the cabin water spring. A gray day, with the top in the clouds. Quads sore much of the way, whichi ndicates I'm not in top shape, and probably will be worse on the weekend. I know this was not smart, but I needed a good trail run to get away from all the moving stuff.

Running - hilly or rough warm up/down 16:48 [2] 0.93 mi (18:04 / mi)

Slow run on a couple of side trails near the end, then walk the last few tenths.

Stretching 10:00 [0]

Walk/Hiking/Snowshoe 32:00 [1] 1.85 mi (17:18 / mi)

Village roads, first half with S. Should have run, but didn't feel like it at the end of this big day.

Note

After staying overnight at the Inn at Saint John, we handed over the hefty "entry fee" to Ocean View and got the keys to our new home. It feels really new, because it has new carpet and pseudo-tile, new appliances, a new back door (formerly a window), a new kitchen counter and cabinets, new toilet bowls (whoopee), and new paint. We dumped our first carload of stuff in the garage - mostly all our camping gear, so we can "camp" in the next two weeks if we choose, until our furniture gets moved.

Note

To Portland for doctors. S and I took a short walk in the woods at the Cousins Island causeway in Yarmouth, then sat on the beach for a bit. This will be our new habitat!

Running - road or flat 52:03 [3] 4.19 mi (12:25 / mi)

Back and forth on the VK trails. Knees seem to be OK. Tried to push at times.
