| Hmm. Well a good effort in the race but I felt like shit!
Medial tibial pain quite bad in left leg now. So boring. The long downhills on a slighty hard surface really aggrevated the problem. I did the voltarin thing again I really think the effect of that is too weaken my legs. I was tired from the race yesterday but the edge has really been taken off my speed and strength on hills. Legs feeling really sluggish especially in the intricate sections of the race that required nimble footing. 2nd this time and not too far off the pace but I really should have nailed this course, it was dry and fast.

| Warm up and down. (Too, went to the orienteering race at Woodhill. Started but then decided it was a stupid thing to do given the way my calf is feeling. Walked about 5km in terrain to keep my muscles warm) | ||

| Cross Country race (Halswell Quarry) 1:00:00 [5]17 km (3:32 / km) +285m 3:15 / km | ||

| Felt ok to start with but the race turned into a bit of a slog. Spikes weren't quite long enough and I slipped a lot and had one big fall and cut both knees.
Happy with this effort in base training. Took a voltarin in the morning to calm a niggle in my left calf. The effect of the diclofinac is universal and I have to say I felt quite weak, as though my legs weren't quite firing properly.

Had a massage during the day and then ran as late in the evening as I could to get time from that. Really not a good thing to do. Legs felt totally shot. So I ran gently. Arch Hill-Sandringham-Mt Albert-Pah/Manukau-Khyber Pass-Newton-Arch Hill.
