Endurance (Easy) 1:10:00 [3]

Caught with immy for a run from karekare.

Plan was 90mins solid and hilly but my legs were tired and I had a return of the Achilles tenderness so I took all intensity out and cruised around.

Down was fine so speed up a bit for that and the final flat was fine.

Can't feel it hoping or walking but it is tender to squeeze and just feels vulnerable as opposed to injured so am planning an aqua jog for tue to let it settle down.

Bike then aqua jog.

Had a coaching session with a junior track runner from st cuths, Achilles was fine for that.

Warm up around the lower domain tracks with lee, Dave, mike b and Alice.

Really good drills felt great.

Head wind for the strides and reps and I really felt poor from the 4s on.

Warm up, then upper body then mega stretch. I was so tight last Sunday after the sat morning quality session that I thought it would be better to do the mega stretch today rather than Sunday.

Then a foot massage at the Chinese massage place near the gym as a treat. A painful treat but a treat all the same.

Endurance (Hilly sub-threshold) 1:15:00 [3]

We've now officially split into two squads for this which means gone is the comfortable warm up. Dave v, lee, matt, Alice and I headed off at a good reasonable sbt pace. Was goin nicely around to Ngapipi and then Lee decided he'd try to gap me and then I countered and suddenly we were flying along east ridge at tempo, slight respite down to the round-a-bout and then the shore rd hills were hard but ok, arney rd and arney cres sapped my energy and I only just held on up ayr st, with lee trying to drop me again. Awesome run.

Nice aqua jog. Didn't want to get out.

Warm up then long core workout and then long mega stretch. Felt surprisingly good all day despite this mornings run being a step up in intensity.

Slept in until 8 and I really needed it.

Spin for 20mins and then the upper body strengthening and stabilising workout with Aaron.

Went to music in the park a bit and then back to Ruth ad radar's and played wii dance for about 4 hours. Man that is tiring.

Ugh, I felt tired today. Warm up wasn't comfortable and then I just had to hang on to Matt for the whole run. If he wasn't running I would have ended up plodding. I can feel I am still protecting my Achilles by lifting rather than driving and sub threshold without decent propulsion is just laborious. Anyway got through it and Achilles is fine. Mentally tired too.

Gym (Upper body ) 1:00:00 [3]

Longish warm up then full upper body, the bicep and tricep isolations, rotator cuff strengtheners and scapular stabilizers. Axed the idea of doing core.

Early start to PT and that left me feeling smashed all day.
