Note

registered for the STL senior games 1500 and 400 on Memorial Day; church choir conflict on Sunday morning for the 200 and 800; otherwise, would have been nice to get a time in since I haven't raced those distances in my adult life.

this coming week may be the last chance to get my eating and weight under control. otherwise, I will have to pull the plug on the early season and refocus goals for late summer races. it would be a shame to waste all my winter base on weight issues. I have a couple early mid May local 5K to motivate me that I traditionally do. Last year, I was 20 lbs lighter but running injured. This year it's just the opposite, I'm basically healthy but terribly overweight. I know what works, what I have to do. It's just executing the plan. Really, I cannot leave it much later. Sometimes, I have to be backed into a corner before the behavior comes around. With three weeks till the May 7 5K, right NOW is crunch time. It's now or never.

Note

billy won his 3200m last night in one of the most exciting races I've seen . . . against a very good runner from Washington HS, 15th in state XC last fall, really pushed him, came down to a one sec difference at the line.

Note

feel somewhat out of sorts, like I'm fighting some low level viral infection. I don't feel terrible but just not 100%, like I really couldn't run fast if I wanted to, which is not a great feeling.
6 PM

Walk/Run 1:00:00 [1] 3.5 mi (17:09 / mi)
shoes: Hoka Challenger ATR

Walk/ Run back from Metro to home. just took it easy and jogged when it felt good, tried to relax and not push it. felt good overall to stretch out the legs.
