Walk/Run 47:00 [2] 3.5 mi (13:26 / mi)
shoes: Hoka Challenger ATR (purple)
walk/ jog to Metro, am . . . shootin for the double. got a late start so stayed focused and made the train 3 min sooner than normal. 50->47 minutes.
oh yeah, weird anecdote, I was jogging down St Vincent on the last part of the route, and I hear this child's voice yelling frantically . . . "NO RUNNING! . . . NO RUNNING . . . NO RUNNING!" didn't look back but he/she couldn't have been more than 3 or 4.
I wondered how many times she had been told that by parents and other adults. and remembered all the times I was chided . . . "Don't Run" . . . "No running". at the pool, at the school, in church. NO RUNNING! After the childrens moment in our sunday church service, all the little tykes just go bolting down the aisle to and from. Children are just natural runners, it's their default mode of transport. Think how much harm we are doing by inhibiting this natural inclination. All in the name of safety. Terrible harm is done in the world in the name of safety.
