Orienteering race 2:15:21 [4]*** 10.9 km (12:25 / km) +375m 10:36 / km

JK Day 3 - M35L - Well, woke up with really sore legs after yesterday and raw right heel from yesterday's blister. Today was in The Pludds, which is basically rough and steep, though only 9 controls in this part, then back to New Beechenhurst for the remainder. Started ok, but not sure about my route choice to 3 and think that the 75m climb up to the control could have been avoided with a better route. Really technical bit round the old mine workings was excellent, but I lost a bit of time on 15, and there were dozens of runners wandering round up there looking for controls, and there were a good number of controls up there too! Several runners retired today so pleased to have finished a couple of places higher than yesterday and 24th overall on the weekend. Feet really sore by the end and ready for a couple of days rest. Great weekend though!

Orienteering race 1:53:17 [4]*** 10.6 km (10:41 / km) +445m 8:50 / km
spiked:17/24c shoes: Inov8 Mudroc O'330
JK Day 2 - M35L. My first attempt at M35L after a year on 35S, not sure the JK was the place to begin! But fantastic atmosphere there, brilliant weather and woodland to run in. Pretty steep in places and was a bit disappointed with my time, but made a few silly errors on the way round which cost me a few minutes. Was really pretty tired by the end and took the long route round Wimberry Slade between 18 & 19, and on reflection down along and up would have been much quicker, as would have been a different route choice between 16 & 17. Still good fun all the same a finished 28 out of 45. Got 2 great blisters, one on each heel :-)
