Official distance 7.9k, 160m climb. Recorded time 58:52. A really lovely run through Temple Newsam park, visiting parts of the wood nearer Halton I've never been to before. The December snow has really flattened the brambles, so the wood was very runnable. I made one silly mistake on the way to 14, coming into the wood a little high and passing 15, so lost a couple of minutes there, Also went the wrong side of the thicket on the last control, coming round 3/4 of the cirumference, which I think gave me the slowest split of the day for this leg. Overall, I was 3rd fasted M40, which is almost certainly the best brown course result I've had.. Paths were very icy in places and there were several moments of having to really pick your way carefully..

Fairly easy jog up and round Woodhouse Moor before Abby went to work this morning. A bit icy in places.

Time pressing this morning, so a brief few laps of the perimeter of Burley Park. There were a couple of foxes playing together near the footbridge over the railway,

Run up to Woodhouse Moor, then through the snickets to the Ridge. Very quiet out, only a couple of New Year resolution runners out, but plenty of squirrels.. Suddenly looks very autumnal, with loads of leaves revealed by the thaw which haven't been mulched as usual. Back through Headingley.
