Orienteering race 35:50 [4] **** 4.46 km (8:02 / km)

Twin Peaks Middle Distance Event, Torver Back Common, Brown.
Wanted to just have a clean race and not make any huge mistakes, trying to spike all controls. Only made one mistake on #8 where i was too high on the hill and then got confused which crags i was one. Didn't feel like i was going that fast but wasn't going slow and navigation was pretty good. Enjoyed it. Was 1st W18, 10th overall.

WCOC Night event at Blea Tarn. Was focussing on picture and direction together. Went well, properly stated at number 2 as used number 1 as a warm up because the start was quite far up hill. Went well spiked all controls and managed to have good picture throughout the course. Was running between LT and LTP.

Easy recovery run around Cockermouth. Running at round LT. Was good and legs felt fine not too tired from last night.

S & C 30:00 [4]

Core stability class at the sports centre. Felt good but was quite hard.

Tuesday Feb 7, 2017 #

Jog to the start of the training session tonight with Keswick AC. Was meant to be hills but it changed so just had to make do.

Run intervals 10:00 [4] 2.37 km (4:13 / km)

1st lot of 10 mins on the flat running hard down the road then jogging back. Was a bit confusing to start with but then settled into it. WAs running above LTP for the hard sections then back down to LT for the easy sections.

2nd lot of 10 mins, flat then steep uphill. Was hard going up the hill but pushed through and kept going. Running at LTP up the hill and LT back down the hill.

3rd lot of 10 mins, steep up hill then flat. Was very hard having to go up the hill at the start but i felt good and really made me much. Was going at above LTP up the hill then just above LT back down.

4th lot of 10 mins, up a set of steps then back down the road. The steps were very small so really interrupted my natural stride pattern but was good as it made you step in really small steps. Was going just below LTP on the steps then just above LT on the way back down.

Cool down jog back to the car and then some stretches.

Yoga class at the sports centre, felt good and defiantly stretched out my legs.
