WC3 Norway Prologue
Really tight start with a lot of very short legs from the start. Made more than a minute of mistake to #3, stupid route choice so I ended up looking for it too early, should have gone on the trail. After that, it was okay but I couldn't get ahead of my orienteering so it felt like I was in a hurry all the time.
It was fine but could have been better, I felt kind of exhausted from the beginning. After this weekend I'll take some time off for sure.

Chase start in the afternoon!!

WC3 Norway Pursuit
I wish I had a better start spot but had to go with what I had. 94th starter, a few places behind Morten. When I started, I knew I had a small gap to the train infront and a guy 4seconds behind me. So, I checked that for the first control I needed to push hard following my compass bearing until that big cliff behind #1. I started seeing the guys that started in front of me and sped up to catch them after the control. We kept that fast speed and started catching more people that started before us.
Coming to the spectator control I was already so dead so I found myself at the end of the train passing the arena. After that we had a long leg. The whole train in front went straight but me and Morten went around with the rest of the that group following us. We came to the control before the people that went straight!
I held on to that group even if I was totally dead. Going to #15 I saw an opportunity to hit hard in the downhill and by really hammering it down like crazy I made my way up from last to second in that 15people train.
I kept my position until the second last control where all of us made a small mistake and once I found the control I put all out and sprinted down to the last control like an animal.
Fighting for all of it, I crossed the line with two other guys and we tied!!

At the end, made up 16 places and lost only like 5-6minutes to the lead!!

One tough running performance and a fun tricky, fast technical in the morning combined to a very very exhausting but memorable day!! Looking forward to the world cup in Helsinki next year with this type of race!!

Note

Wanted to keep a-run-a-day even after yesterday's tough race but just as I put my shoes on and started running, I felt so exhausted that I stopped right there. Some stretching and cold gel. I'll be back tomorrow, I promise!

Finnish long distance champs A-final
From the start some challenging route choices and a lot of climbing. My legs felt so exhausted only after a few hills and I knew this was gonna be a long day. After yesterday, I decided that 20mins behind the lead is good for me(if I don't make mistakes) because I wasn't expecting the spot in the final. Made a mistake on #4, was looking for the control too low and the forest was too dense so I didn't see the hill where the control was. Coming to #8(the long leg) I was looking at the options, either pretty straight or way way around(leg 3,5k, around 5,5k). I was really trying to figure this out and finally ended up going around. Lost 4:30min to the lead but that was the best option for me, I would have been much slower going straight. After the that, I got to the butterfly loop and had already read most of it in advance. Sadly, going from #12 to #13 I lost my way a bit to the right. Luckily, I noticed that pretty soon and got back on track. After that it was just a fight until that last uphill going to #21. Thinking to myself, I said that when I'm up that hill, the race is done for me. From there it was just rolling down to the last control. And I still had some energy left cause I was the fastest Men Elite on the finish chute ;)
What a race, SO EXHAUSTED! Now time to rest well!!
