Orienteering race (British Mdle) 55:50 [5] 7.9 km (7:04 / km) +80m 6:44 / km
shoes: Inov8 x talon 212

Race of 2 halfs, Started off steady, bit of a hesitation to #1, lost 15 seconds. 40 seconds lost on #2 just ran down an unmarked path thinking it was a marked path. Good to #3 and #4. Saw Finn come out of #4 guessed where #5 might be, got it wrong lost Finn and 1 minute. Steady up to #6, tured around at #6 saw Sam Fielding in the distance he caught me. I bolted, unfortunately at the wrong time, #7 and #8 where legs where I needed to take extra care. There was just a maze of paths on both legs, I just could not get it right, I kept yelling out in frustration. I lost 8 minutes on controls #7 and #8 I slowed up after this and focused on navigation taking an easy path route to #9 to get my head back on. #9 and #10 good, #11 20m to the west lost 30 seconds but re-caught Finn to #12. Again had another nightmare at 12 losing 3 minutes. Didn't check my descriptions, was standing about 10 metres from it convinced I was in the right place, Finn did the same. Me and Finn both decided we had nothing to lose, so we decided to Put the Afterburners on for the second half. It worked, we spiked almost every control to the finish, absolutely flying over the terrain. I was reading the map and focusing and had Finn to push me, best I've felt for a long time. Sweeped up Lachlan with 2 controls to go, re-caught and dropped Fielding as well. Finished 5th. Harry 48, Felly 51, Pedley 51, J Leitch 53 and me 55. Cant believe everyone made such big mistakes. | would have won with a mediocre run. Overall around 15mins of mistakes in the British Middle and I finished 5th!!!!!

Orienteering race (British Sprint Heats) 15:40 [5] 3.92 km (4:00 / km)
shoes: Inov8 x talon 212

Really focused for this one, was going all or nothing for the A final. Exploded away from the start and nearly ended my race on 2nd control. Punched the wrong #2 checked my description, realised whit I'd done after 10 seconds Hesitation. Little did I know this hesitation would cost me a place in the A final. Rest of the race felt good, no mistakes, not 100% sure if all of my routes were the best. Really happy to mix it with the big boys, 55 seconds down on Murray Strain not too shabby.......

Orienteering race (British Sprint B Final) 15:03 [5] 3.64 km (4:08 / km)
shoes: Inov8 x talon 212

Really strong competition for a B final. Started 2nd last. Barrable 1 minute in front and Dave Schorah 1 minute behind, its fair to say I felt out of place. Honestly didn't feel as focused as I did in the heats, despite this ran well, Kept seeing Barrable. My only mistake apart from a couple of hesitations was a 15 second mistake on the last control, where I embarrassingly ran strait past it. Finished 2nd 20 seconds behind Ollie Williams, really happy with this results, hope it gives selectors something to think about ;)

Run Offroad (Steady Afternoon run) 20:14 [3] 5.0 km (4:03 / km) +5m 4:02 / km
shoes: Nike flex 2015

Really hot and humid. Pleased with pace, didn't feel like I was going that fast, was meant to be easy and sort of felt easy. Stopped for a quick toilet break half way. Legs ok but bit heavy because I did some 20m sprints just before. Just getting ready for British sprint and middle now.....

Race Road race (TBAC 5k road race) 17:28 [5] 5.0 km (3:30 / km) +75m 3:15 / km
shoes: Nike flex 2015

Really Really Hot and Humid. 23 degrees at 7pm with no wind, really muggy not great for running. Started fast but really started to feel the heat about a mile in. Fell back off the leading pace. Was such a slog from then to the finish, really tailing off in the last km 3:50. Legs still heavy from weekend. Finished 3rd and 17:28 so not dreadful its just I could have done much better with less tired legs.....

Run Road warm up/down (WU/WD) 16:00 [2] 3.0 km (5:20 / km) +50m 4:55 / km
