(injured)

Been about 3 weeks I’ve had this shin niggle. I think it is an inflamed posterior tibialis around where the muscle joins the tendon up the inside of my left shin. This uncomfort has been relatively steady although that run yesterday seemed to do a little more damage then good. I’ll take 2 days off and see physio maybe jog on Tuesday and see how things are. I think this niggle has effected my training enough now to call myself “injured.” I’ll hit the rehab as hard as I can and hopefully will be back to full running training soon.

Been a long day. Only got 4 hours sleep then was helping at big weekend for most of the day + had a pretty terrible hangover. So just happy I actually managed to motivate myself enough to do this. Added 10x1min (1) in the middle aswell. Averaged 195W for 47 mins which I think is ok? (Probably shit)

Delayed pre breakfast canal and WoL. Could feel shin for the whole thing but not painful. Might not run tomorrow just to take things cautiously. Was a bit of a grind by the end as got quite hungry.

Solo 90mins in the watt bike. Got bored so threw in 15x1min (1) which got the HR nice and high. Just didn’t have time to get out on the road bike today. Hopefully I won’t have to do many more of these.

Pre-Breakfast KF Session: 5 Steady -> 15 Tempo -> 5 Steady

Steady @ ~ 3:40/km
Tempo @ 3:26/km

Very cold out, KF was completely frosted over. Decided to put steady at the end to force myself into not doing the tempo too hard. First steady felt a bit meh and then first 5 mins of the tempo felt pretty grim. But once I got into it the last bit of the tempo felt comfortable. Was just hard to run at that pace pre breakfast. The last steady was chill, rolled into it comfortably straight off the tempo and hit the pace I wanted to hit. Happy to grind it out but nothing to write home about.

Bit grim, no fan just tried to zone out and listen to the podcast. Too icy to take the road bike out. Pressed on a few times to get the proper full body sweat on.

Hill Session: 5x3min (3), 4x30s (2)

First hard session in a couple of weeks. Surprised myself, managing to stay at the front for all of the 3min reps. Couldnt hack stanwix's pace on the 30s reps however. Calf was fine throughout, although left hip started to twinge probably because I was slightly subcontiously labouring. Bit uncompfortable on the warm down but never painful. Has settled now that I've sat down in the flat. Overall happy with the outcome.
