Easy with Finlay and Tom after 4 hours in the car. Found some nice little trails round the travellodge. Ate maccies an hour before so didn’t feel great, could feel shin slightly aswell but should be good for tomorrow.

Rest day ride

23.8km / 27.3kph

Was meant to be a really nice relaxed spin out. Unfortunatly there was constant traffic the whole way round, it started raining and my hands got really cold. This put me in a really confrontational / angry mood. Was being a bit of a prick tbh swerving in and out of cars and tailgating and probably deserved to be called a w*nker (twice) by angry motorists. Just wasn't in the mood for it.

Note

Going to start doing more S&C, but can't be assed logging it as will only be in small amounts every day. Basically need to get a stronger bum because that's likely the cause of my shit running form and injury.

Running 40:11 [2] 8.9 km (4:31 / km)
shoes: Under Armour Charge Bandit 3

Easy AlterG

90% Bodyweight
3% Incline

Coughing in lecture and legs feel a bit shagged so that will be all for today.

Running 57:05 [3] 9.71 km (5:53 / km) +494m 4:41 / km
shoes: Hoka One One Speedgoat 2

Steady hilly hour on the seat. Took the climbs quite razzy and then chilled on the downhills. Did crags, steps, MFD, crags. Felt ok for most, but absolutely died on the last part of MFD. Could feel shin occasionally but wasn't uncomfortable. Will keep it chill until Sunday.

Felt good again. Shin barely noticeable though ankle felt a little bit niggly so will probably ease off the physio exercises tonight. Really happy with how my body is reacting to running. Some classic Calvin Harris belters made the time fly by.
4 PM

Spinning 30:00 [2]

Easy spin post-AlterG with Emma. Starting to feel the gym DOMS from yesterday.

Very pleased and pleasantly surprised with how this went. Started off with no pain in the shin and through the run never really noticed it. I think because my ,mind was fixated on it, any little twinge would have me worried, was ever so slightly achy by the end of the run, but really nothing noticeable. Also felt surprisingly ok considering I haven't done any exercise in 13 days. Aimed to go at an easy jog but just gauge it off effort, so was very surprised to see my average pace at the end of the run. Not out of the woods yet but this is definitely a positive sign. Think I just need to keep my running to mainly soft surface for now.

Good session oh yes. Riding a wave today.

Note
(injured) (sick)

Did 2 hours of Uber (£11/hour (should definitely start going in the evening think I’ll make a lot more then)). Still not better but coughing less and just a bit sniffly. Tomorrow I will hit a rather large reset button. Fingers crossed both my injury and illness have improved over the last couple of weeks. Will start with a 20min jog tomorrow. Excited and nervous to finally attempt to start things up again after probably the longest break with no activity since I started training regularly. I hope this is the last time I will be marking myself as injured/ill. The first selection race is a week away, I just want to be on the start line healthy (very unfit).
