Just banged it on cruise control and rode it. Damp morning but weirdly very enjoyable, guess just a nice change from the sun. This sort of thing will now become a staple for Friday as I make my quest towards the 80k week.

Lovely loop over the valleys. Couple of seizable climbs in there. Taking it nice n chill. Really enjoyable and perfect running temperature.

Tempo Session: 5x5' (1')

Finally managed to put a decent session together after 3 weeks of messing around. Just went around the lanes so was quite undulating. Didn't look at watch for first rep and ended up going a bit quick. Made the rest of the session a bit of a grind but hitting some decent enough paces considering the short recovery. Second half of last rep was a major slog up the hill.

Heading out the door for my run I saw a stray dog. I called it over but it ran away so I set off in Peru’s it. Realising I couldn’t catch it I had to run home get in the car and drive after it. Luckily it made it back home.

Take 2. Was quite late by the time I started and still hadn’t eaten anything so was worried about the bonk. Just as I started a guy who runs from the local village rocked up so he chummed me for the first 5k which was nice. Haven’t run with anyone in 3 weeks, obviously the 2m gap was applied and this definitely wasn’t arranged so think that’s fine. After he left me I started feeling the sun a bit so decided to slowly squeeze down the pace as to get home quicker. This helped and also took my mind off the bonk. Finished strong rolling some 3:30s. Good stuff although probably need to take more of my runs easier. This was a grind.

Was just going to do a steady boy like last weekend round the lanes. Was rolling around 3:30/k for the first 4K feeling fine but I wasn’t really enjoying myself and the heat wasn’t fun so just eased it back for a few k before finishing with a couple of quick ones. Classic just lack of motivation to endure any sort of suffer but not bothered as felt comfortably uncomfortable at the harder paces which is a good sign.
