SLR round BnB with Ali, Sasha and Dan. Feeling extremely flat the whole way round. Last 20mins solo was a bit of a struggle. Just a box ticking exercise today.

Meadows big lap solo. Felt quite good, rolling along quite nicely. HR under 150 which was nice to see at this pace.

Chunder Mile - 9:13

4 Pints, 1 mile. Done a beer mile before and thought this would be the same sort of ballpark but oh boy was I mistaken. Turns out one pint is quite a lot bigger than a 330ml bottle. Anyway we began, got the first pint down me fast in around 6 seconds then set off in around 3rd. Made it up to 2nd by the end of the first 400m basically on world record pace. Got the second pint down me, but realised at this point the mountain that I had to climb. Had to walk away and basically jog the next 400m whilst dry heaving. Horrible. Got round and was presented with my 3rd pint. Tried to tan it as I knew carcas was closing in fast! Set off and around 10m in absolutely projectiles. We’re talking out of the nose and mouth, probably top 10 most horrid experiences of my life. Carried on but chundered another 2 times on this 400m section. Luckily Carcas was still behind at the end so my primary objective was still within reach (although the winner had already finished by this point). Slowly got my 4th and final pint down me, then absolutely bolted for the last 400m, head down just went for it, probably dropped a sub 45sec split for that last 400 but will have to check the splits to be 100% sure. Crossed the line and headed straight for the bushes. Another 5mins of spewing went on before I was able to hold a conversation.

Really a game of two halves today. Gutted not to take the dub but definitely positives to take away from this experience. Crushed Carcas into the floor and only 3mins down on the winner which on a good day I reckon I could have done. Think the training and nutrition going in was good, most chunder was pure liquid which I’ve got to say I’m chuffed to bits with. Onto bigger and better things now.

Pre-breakfast hour round the meadows with Dan, Spud and Max. Standard post session death feels. Was a big slog but kept the pace chill so could have been worse. Groin again taken a hit from the session but feels no worse than this point last week so seem to be managing things ok.

Note

Early round of golf on the Swanston par 3 course. Scrappy round from myself, 3 good birdie opportunities (less than 6ft) all of which missed. Made 5 Pars and 8 Bogies eventually leaving me at +19 (although was +5 after 2 holes). Not the best but happy with my putter today, many 2 puts which was a positive. Short game definitely needs work however, whenever I missed the green I’d be lucky to get up and down for bogie let alone par. Was making greens in regulation more often then not on the back 9 which was another positive to take. Think I’m capable of hitting much lower though so the aim will be single digits for sure. All the other boys made they’re pro golfing debuts having had a month or so practice at the range. Tom kicked thing off with a very impressive +32 whilst max made a couple of Pars. Finn only lost one ball. Great little course, good for beginners but tough pin positions and small greens certainly made it challenging. Back again next week.

With Max and Dougie for the whole thing. Nice conditions with no wind so preferred sitting on the front. Felt nice and controlled for pretty much the whole thing. Last rep started to get a bit grindy but the other two were only doing 6 reps so I was happy to stop when they did. Groin niggling but better than last week I think. Good work.
