Scottish Champs Relay 1st leg

Good blast round Roseisle in the front pack with Phil, Spongey and Dave. Lead the boys round the first few controls then hit the heavier terrain and swiftly sat in behind. Went to the wrong 19 with Dave and lost the other two. 2mins gone which was a bit annoying. Team came 4th which wasn’t helped by this blunder. Good fun.

Scottish Champs - 8th

Not quite the World Cup, but still a nice compromise.

Enjoyed the first 50mins. Probably lost around 5mins through scrappy mistakes in or near the circle. Then picked a shit route to #22 giving myself extra climb then fucked it in the circle. Lost a bit of motivation here and then got swept up by the GG train from #25 - #30, then got some cramp and had to walk/jog the remaining controls.

Fun and humbling day in the skog.

Phys Testing

Started at 13kph upping by 1kph with a 30sec break to measure lactic in between.

Made it 2:25 into 22kph which is significantly better than my 1:45 into 20kph from 2019. Wasn’t wearing a mask because couldn’t care less about my VO2 and wanted more accurate lactate readings, which made things a bit easier/more pleasant compared to past phys testing experiences. Felt very comfy through 20kph then started to bite at 21kph then 22 started feeling very fast and sacked as soon as it got painful, felt a bit wet but cba putting myself in the locker. Hopefully some got some good data out of that.
