Happy. 13th place. Everyone started way fast, I was probably about 70th at the half mile and passing people the whole way. Mile splits 6:13 and 12:29. Started noticing people I'd passed would pass me on downhills (screw being short) so I started pushing HARD with a mile to go, moving into 9th by mile 3. The finish is a massive downhill and I didn't trust myself to stay ahead of the girls I'd passed so I intentionally mobbed up to mile 3 to secure my spot. Not unexpectedly got passed by 4 girls in the kick (coulda got 9th with a sub 19:20) but I fully knew I did everything I could for the shape I was in. Felt great, had tons of fun, felt like I was sprinting the whole time, pretty dead in the last half mile. Made my goals, girls and guys teams had 4 PRs each, me and Luke both podiumed, everyone froze their asses off, overall a fantastic last HS xc meet.
