running warm up/down 7:53 [2] 1.45 km (5:26 / km)
shoes: inov8 x talon 212

orienteering long 1:08:00 [3] 8.22 km (8:16 / km)
14c shoes: inov8 x talon 212

This was really good! It wasn't perfect - I made my fair share of mistakes - but I was mentally focused, competitive with Graeme (I know he's injured but still it helped having someone to run with), and felt really in touch with the map and terrain.

Mentally not into it and groggy beforehand; even after warmups I didn't feel awake. Really showed in my race as well; was not connected to the map, and kept making mistakes and ending up in the circle but 10-20 m off every time. Also, major compass issues on 2- I had the same issue at Jr Nats, so idk if my compass is broken, it's just slow to readjust, or I'm just very bad at compassing. Route coming, you'll see what I mean.

running warm up/down 13:13 [2] 2.52 km (5:15 / km)
shoes: Saucony Guide 10

running tempo 12:15 [4] 3.2 km (3:50 / km)
shoes: Asics Hyper Speed 7

My school's ASB put on a 2-mile fun run and spikeball tournament on the track after school today. It was raining. 10 people did the race. 8 were xc peeps. Anyway, super fun, ran with Coach, Alex, Rory, and Ritvik pretty much the whole time, raced Coach the last lap, thought 6:15s might be a little too spicy but I felt great! Reassuring that I'm not losing my speed.

running warm up/down 10:00 [2] 2.1 km (4:46 / km)
shoes: Saucony Guide 10

conditioning (strength) 14:00 [3]

functional strength routine + rolling between sets. Doing the lateral lunges and single leg squats I realized my L vastus medialis (inner quad, look it up) is really tight. Gotta stretch

Note

So, I'm already at 30 miles for the week, and I still have 2 big orienteering days ahead of me. It's definitely gonna be over 40, so I'm gonna do smaller warmups and cooldowns for this weekend, and take a break if my body needs it on Monday. The first half of next week will be busy with senior stuff, but I'll try to plan some legit training later (maybe Thurs or Fri morning).

running 1:00:33 [3] 9.31 km (6:30 / km)
shoes: Saucony Guide 10

Adventure run from New Life church with Bailee. Followed team up the hill, but the trail was super overgrown and we ended up walking through nettle for a mile while Coach whacked bushes with a stick up ahead of us. Bailee and I split off at the top to get a lower mileage run, navigated through some streets, found another trail that dwindled out, bushwhacked up a steep hill, did some more street navigating, and finally made our way out to Maple Valley Highway. What a run, but never again.

running 47:00 [3] 9.5 km (4:57 / km)
shoes: Saucony Guide 10

Forgot watch AGAIN which was fine. Stuck with the boys at a decently brisk pace until last mile, stomach was hurting so I stopped for a bit and ran the rest on my own.

running 55:00 [3] 12.0 km (4:35 / km)
shoes: Saucony Guide 10

No watch. Lake Boren, went out with Coach, Sam, and Alex, on the way back they all took off so I did my best to keep them in sight and ended up doing a 5 mile tempo-y thing, not super high intensity, but still, felt great to do some speedy long running. Stopped at the bottom of the stairs for stomach, went easy on the way back and had to stop multiple more times. Stomachs SUCK
