Saturday Jul 22

Orienteering tempo (Terrain Running) 1:50:00 [4]
2 laps of the Melbourne Forest Loop (7.5km) at long distance pace.
First lap 40m 20s.
Second lap 40m 10s.
Lost a bit of time in the first 15mins as I felt a bit sluggish. Started running stronger later in the lap and on to the second, going through most timing points about a minute up on the first lap. Lost a bit of time in the last 10 minutes as it was getting dark as I was running some of the steeper parts.

Friday Jul 21

Note
(rest day)
Recovering after watching 3 days of mountains stages till 1:30am each night. Perhaps if I logged that in AP, I could catch up to Miss Jones.

Thursday Jul 20

Running intervals (Fartlek) 55:00 [4]
Mona fartlek
2x90s on, 4x60s on, 4x30s on, 4x15s on, with equal recoveries in between each.
Increased the effort throughout the session. Felt quite good on the recoveries, but still lacking a bit of speed.

Wednesday Jul 19

Running 46:00 [3]
Reverse Botanical lap at moderate pace.
Very cold outside, and felt very sluggish for first 25 minutes and almost had to stop. Got better as the run went on, and finished off feeling quite strong.

Tuesday Jul 18

Running intervals (Fartlek) 55:00 [4]
Botanical Fartlek - 2 laps.
I was not feeling great from the start - still recovering from virus. The floats were very fast, and had trouble keeping up during recoveries. Ran at the back of the pack, but still finished off with the bunch.

Monday Jul 17

Note
(sick)
Still feeling effects of last week's virus with gastro today :-(

Sunday Jul 16

Orienteering 2:00:00 [4]****
spiked:43/45c shoes: VJ Sarva #3
Mt Tarrengower. Placed 12 controls and checked all controls for Vic Schools Selection Trial. Had to move 3 flags as the controls were on the wrong features. Lucky I was there to check them :-). 75 mins running (with around 15 mins of stops).
Followed this by running 60 minutes of course 1 for State Series #11 (which I am course setting for). Full course would have been 85 mins, but I was starting to tire a bit and left out running over the mountain as this would have been too tough after 2hrs of running.
