| Street Orienteering at Heyington. A favourite map of mine, as I used to live not far from it in Hawthorn, and it has the river, freeway and train line as obstacles to negotiate.
From the start it looked like the competition was between Warren, Adam, Blair and myself. I sat behind Adam to the first control, but then he took an odd route choice. That left me in front of the pack with Warren about 5 seconds behind. It stayed that way for most of the next 30 minutes until the railway crossing. We both had to stop for around a minute. I set myself for a final 1500m interval session head to head against Warren. However, Warren forgot to punch the control at the railway crossing and had to go back. This allowed me to relax at little on the run in, and I ended up winning by around 90 seconds. A good solid session and I felt ok for most of it, even after running for an hour earlier in the day.
Tuesday Mar 13 | ||
| Running intervals 55:00 [4] | ||
| shoes: Nike Zoom Air Elite 07 #5 | ||
| Ganly session at the tan.
500 800 1000 1000 800 500 Missed the start, so ran the first 2 on my own. Just as I returned from my 800, I found the pack who were starting the 1000, so it turned into a 1800 for me. Times were ok, and I was near the front for the longer intervals. I never have much speed on the 500s, and today was no different.

| State Series #1 - Bunjil Spirit (Borhoney Ghurk)
A good clean and fast race. No mistakes to speak of and I felt quite fast. Only 2 minutes behind Troy once again, and 7 seconds ahead of Warren and Milo (the dog). I'll be happy if I can race this well again at Easter. I'm looking forward to it.
