| Cycling 1:30:00 [3] 30 km (3:00 / km) | ||
| weight:67.9kg (injured) | ||
| I dusted off the mountain bike out and went out for a ride. I worked quite hard up a couple of big hills, and got a reasonable aerobic workout (which I have missed for the past few weeks).
Cycling did not cause my injury any concern.
Thursday Sep 4 | ||
| Running 30:00 [1] 4 km (7:30 / km) | ||
| (injured) | ||
| I woke up a bit stiff in the hips and with a sore lower back.
Today's session was essentially a few running drills to try to pinpoint the pain areas for when I see my physio again tonight.
Wednesday Sep 3 | ||
| Running 50:00 [2] 10 km (5:00 / km) | ||
| (injured) | ||
| As per my physios instructions, I went out for an easy run today. I had my pelvis taped up, and wore Skins for even more compression.
My abs felt a lot more stable, and although I was only running slowly, there was significantly less pain. When I tried to stride out a little I could feel tightness in my upper groin/hips still. Good progress compared with how I felt on Monday.

| Physio - Alphington Sports Medicine Clinic - Ross Kinsella
No major tears or breaks. However my oblique abs are extremely tight and tender from overcompensating for other weak muscles in the hip area. I endured some excrutiating massage, and need to do more massage over the next couple of days to see if it improves. The physio hopes to get me right in time for the nationals, but I'll have to wait and see. He wants me to do a light jog before Thursday so that I can tell him how it is progressing. Apparently I am very bad at trying to squat on one leg. I have little stength in my glutes, and other muscles have to work overtime to stabilise the hips.

| Pilates 25:00 [1] | ||
| (injured) | ||
| Easy pilates workout.
I was in a bad mood after Essendon's pathetic performance to allow St Kilda a top 4 finish. I can't believe how weak Essendon were. I wouldn't want to be a Bombers supporter and have to live with that effort for the next six months. I sat down in the evening and watched Dr. No and From Russia With Love on Fox Classics. Classic Sean Connery as 007. My lower back was a bit sore on the couch, and pulled up very sore the next morning.
