I just wanted to do a bit of a shake down after the weekend so I went along to the running clubs interval session and did the first half so 3 1ks off 5 minutes then I just went for a medium-ish jog round the glorious tarmac of Glasgow green before going home.

Note

University of Strathclyde finished 12th overall. A good result for a squad that was significantly weekend from last years 4th place finish.

Running second leg in the BUCS relays. Callum had a solid run on first leg and at the start of my course I was feeling great. I ran nice and smoothly through the first set of controls all the way down the hill but as soon as it came to uphill I was back to walking again. I was much cleaner today than on Saturday but when I finished I felt like I still had a bit more to give which was a but frustrating seen as I did a lot of walking up the climbs. Need to get more motivated I think.

BUCS individual race. A really good course on quite a runniable area I'm the forest of dean. I enjoyed it but didn't have the best of runs. I was really struggling to read the map on the move, I managed to get a ride along in a couple of trains but as soon as it hit a climb I got dropped immediately. Definitely an area for improvement.

Had a mare today. Spent 5 minutes looking for a control then just decided I couldn't find it and left :( Callum wins once again D: Its fine though, BUCS at the weekend and feeling pretty good.

Todays session was 2x(6x200m) with a 60s recovery. The recovery was quite generous so I was trying to run them quickly. I managed to get them all between 30-32s. My speed is starting to come back but I'm still really lacking in stamina

Pouring with rain today so I wasn't too keen on going out but went out and did 8 medium reps. I was actually feeling pretty good but my hips were a bit sore by the end :/
