Pig, Day 2. Nice weather. Still feeling dogged. Injured myself jumping across a stream on the way to #2 - sharp abdominal pain. Took about 10 mins to walk this off before I could really run again. Thought about bailing, but the finish was so far away it wasn't worth the trouble. Picked up the pace when Clem arrived on the way to #8. Wyatt came along around #13 (I bobbled 12) and I spent the rest of the course trying to escape. Then went waaaaay right on the way to 22- up the wrong spur - and wasted lots of distance.
Note
A very disappointing weekend after a long week of moving while sick. The timing was terrible, but there was no other option except to give it a shot and see what happened. Denmark 06.
US Short champs at the pig. Miserable weather - rain, cold wind, mud. Still not feeling very strong. Also made some big errors, particularly on #2, which I got to by way of 3.
Spent all day cleaning the old apt and spakling. This job sucks, and its worse being sick. Then drove to Harrisburg to meet Mike and start out for the Pig. Left a day early to get a day of training in the woods at Ft. Ancient before the sprint, but I felt terrible so just slept in the car while Mike went out for a 70 min trail run.
Ugh. More heavy lifting. Moved all the books tonight. I caught a cold yesterday...cough, fever, headache, congestion. I guess my number was finally up. Bad timing, as usual.
