Saturday Aug 6

trail run 8:00 [2]1 km (8:00 / km)
Easy warm up. It was hot in the sun.
orienteering race 59:56 [5]*** 9.3 km (6:27 / km)
14c
U.S. Relay champs, Leg 4 (red). Had a great race. Went out ~6 mins behind the leader. Felt whupped for the first 3 legs - the climb was brutal. Caught the race leader at #4 which gave me a shot of adrenalin. Could hear him just behind me for 2 more legs then no one for the rest. Could hear Brad and Megan cheering from the Corral at #10. After the spectator control, as I was climbing up to #11 Kayla and Evalin said "hi" and something about peanut butter for sale. I had just memorized the next 3 codes and I promptly forgot them, so had to unfold the map and do it again on the trail. Saw Magnus with a camera just before the control and I asked him where it was. He said he didn't know, but I think he was fibbing. SVO!!!

Ran to the start and back to get the car keys from Brad before the night-O.

U.S. Night-O champs at Manitou Lake, CO. A rather poor outing, but had a good time. Tough night-O course. Drop-kicked my flashlight on the way to 7 (by accident).
