Tennis 4:00:00 [1]

Lots of red ball with Amy and Brody at first, then Declan and Liam as well. One set of yellow ball doubles with Liam against Damien and Declan. A bit more red ball with Amy and Brody, then green ball with Liam for an extra hour or so after everyone else went home. Getting a little dark by the time we stopped, about 7:45pm I think. Feeling wrecked by the end, even worse than when I started.

Metro Star Swamp. Hadn't even thought about running this until after Rachel got home from work and asked if I was ready to go. Hadn't done anything else today so decided I should have a run. Didn't want to run hard and did no warm up but decided I should try to get to the first control before the crowd. That seemed easy enough but I really struggled on the next leg due to the lack of warm up. I had decided I would start out by getting all the controls in the Star Swamp bushland since I wasn't trying to race. That was quite enjoyable but I think I could have found a better route if I had put a bit more thought into it. I think I ended up doing about 500m more than most people.
Not trying to push hard but still felt really unfit in the last few km through the streets which was quite hilly.

Sprint training at UWA.
No pain in heels but did feel a but stiff around the achilles, particularly right side. After running the two longest courses I told Rachel I wanted to head home before I stiffened up too much. Half an hour later we actually started the jog home and I did feel very stiff. Not sure this was really a good idea for a first session easing back into running.

Tennis 50:00 [1]

More hitting with Liam to prepare for his next match.
Match didn't go so well this time. He was up 2-1 and serving but double faulted on the deciding point twice to lose the set 2-4 and then lost the second 0-4. Rachel said he looked tired and he seemed tired and grumpy when hitting with me too. He was tired enough last night to not notice falling out of bed and having me pick him up and put him back in. Possibly not 100% well.

Tennis 45:00 [1]

Early hit with Liam to prepare for the consolation round of his first green ball tournament and vent some of the frustration from his first round 0-4 0-4 thrashing by a 7 year old whiz kid yesterday.
It seemed to help as he looked much more relaxed and comfortable today. A match that I expected to be close based on the warm up turned into a 4-0 4-0 win for Liam which did a lot to improve his mood.

Edit: Won his second match of the day 4-2 4-0 as well so much happier now.
