Cycling 1:02:44 [3] 25.23 km (24.1 kph) +263m

Heel was pretty sore last night so I decided to be a good boy and do as my mother told me today. Set a goal of going both directions on each of the roads in KP to motivate me to keep going for a whole hour.

Gears are back to only changing from the big to small chainring on about 1 in 10 attempts so, after some initial promise, the new cables don't seem to have helped. Not sure I can be bothered trying anything else for the once or twice a year that I use the big ring.

Orienteering race 17:24 [5] 3.54 km (4:55 / km) +1m 4:55 / km
shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 212 b

NavDash Canning Vale College.
First part of the course was fast and easy around the streets which I didn't think would suit me but I actually felt pretty good and felt as though I was moving much faster than last week. I think I went pretty well through the college although I haven't checked my map or the splits yet. The one part of the course I wasn't happy with was the two controls on the other side of the creek. For the first one I got stuck in the green a bit on the way back out of it. The second time through I went back the way I went the first time because I knew there was a dry crossing point there but I went too far up and almost went into the out of bounds. Coming out of the control I hesitated for a while before running through the marshy stuff and then had trouble spotting the open gate back into the college even though it was about 5m away and directly in front of me. I was still feeling as though I had run much better than last week so was a bit shocked to see Sten had beaten me by almost twice as much as last time.

Running warm up/down 4:30 [2] 0.67 km (6:42 / km) +2m 6:36 / km
shoes: Saucony Triumph ISO 2 Blue

Tried to do a bit of a warm down after changing shoes but my heel was getting too sore so I cut it short. Heel felt completely fine during the race.
