Eventually convinced myself to get out for a ride in the afternoon. Started out around the river because I couldn't face any hills then headed South along the freeway with some thoughts of doing a loop through Fremantle but decided to just go to Mt Henry and back instead. Glad I did because the right hip was getting quite uncomfortable on the way back.

Spent the morning watching Liam play tennis. He was serving really well. I measured a few serves with the radar on Saturday morning with the fastest being 167km/h. I think his first serve would have been consistently over 160 all day today with a high percentage in and quite a few aces.

Final Metro Series event at Perry Lakes.
Really slow out of the start today. I kind of intended to start in the streets but that really didn't seem a viable option. I looked at the crowd heading to 1 and didn't want to be at the back of that queue. Considered heading for the streets anyway but decided that would be boring so went to 30 first and then back out to 1. Couldn't find a route I was happy with so ended up deciding to do all the out and backs to avoid running down the hill on the bitumen at the end.
Heels/achilles getting sore pretty early on so took it pretty slowly to try to minimise the damage. Got to my last control just after Matt Brierley but he was looking fast enough and I was sore enough that I felt no desire to try to catch him so I just jogged it in. I was surprised to have Hadrien overtake me in the last couple of hundred metres as I assumed he would have finished long ago. Again felt little desire to chase him despite Liam and Amy's best efforts to encourage me and the series placings being on the line.

Went for a run at Reabold while Liam had a tennis lesson. Did 5x3 min efforts with 2min jog but I was feeling a bit stiff and sore from tennis so I didn't put in much effort, it was more just to break up the run and make the time go faster. Saw Nick out doing some final prep for Saturday's MetrO event (I assume).
