Gym 1:19:34 intensity: (1:14:32 @1) + (4:44 @2) + (18 @3)
ahr:94 max:135

Session 2, upper body. Only did half the sets for most of it.
Finally worked out who I thought the slightly familiar looking guy who is often in the gym at the same time as us, wearing his cycling shoes, was. Spoke to him just before leaving and confirmed that it really was Richard Baron-Hay.

Rachel and Liam were heading out to Glen Forrest for a run so I ride my bike out there instead. Tried to follow the railway cycle path from Subiaco but couldn't work out where it went through the city so switched to the road on the horseshoe bridge. Found it more enjoyable riding on the road anyway as it was pretty quiet. More detours on the Midland line made me regret not taking the roads on the other side of the river that I used to use when commuting.
Decided on the steep bit of Marriott Rd that I would definitely take the railway trail from Darlington to Glen Forrest but somehow changed my mind and went up Leithdale and Ryecroft instead.
Brief stop near GFG to see Amy, Rob & Lois then took to the trails in search of Rachel, Liam and Matt. Found Rachel and Matt in Mahogany Creek but Liam had left them well behind so I took the car keys from Rachel and headed for the car. Had a bit of confusion with a mountain biker about who should give way to who as I turned back into the railway trail and then realised he looked familiar. It was Zane from the Darlington tennis team that Liam has played a few times.

Cycling 52:16 intensity: (12:41 @1) + (34:53 @2) + (4:42 @3) 19.41 km (22.3 kph) +258m

I decided to ride to the Murdoch event to give me a reason to get out for a bit more training as I didn't think a walk/jog around the medium course was going to do much for my fitness.

Orienteering 15:55 intensity: (2:46 @1) + (5:51 @2) + (7:18 @3) 2.13 km (7:29 / km) +68m 6:27 / km
ahr:126 max:143 shoes: NB More V3

Hard medium course at the Murdoch sprint. I was supposed to be doing 8x1min run, 1:30 walk but I didn't want to follow a rigid schedule so I just tried to avoid running anything rough or steep and never run for more than about 30 seconds at a time. I thought Noel was going to catch me at one point so probably ran a bit more after that. Foot felt fine.

Cycling 44:57 intensity: (4 @0) + (9:10 @1) + (15:15 @2) + (18:51 @3) + (1:37 @4) 19.21 km (25.6 kph) +217m
ahr:124 max:147

Pushed a bit harder on the ride home.

Easy ride to work in long pants, jumper and gloves. BOM was saying 3.5°C and feels like 2.1°C when I got up but it was a bit warmer by the time I started.

Feeling it a little bit but no difference between walking and running.

Note

Podiatrist visit, with another shockwave session. Much improved from last week so starting on an 8 week return to running plan, compressed into 4 weeks because I've done a bit of running before and have been healing faster than expected so far. No more appointments as long as I don't do anything too stupid.

Lower body 1 with Liam. Did the core stuff at home while Amy had hockey training and dropped a few sets but still didn't manage to get through it all.
