British champs came 7th - really frustrating race- lost quite a lot of time in the woods at no 3 and 5. My big mistake was number 7 had a 16 minute split that should have been 7 or 8 minutes. Went to far down and searching round for ages before I decided to relocat e and realised I was in the wrong place but had been sure I was in the right place- David caught me up by 9 minutes at no 10 but we only lost a minute on the rest of the course at no 11 pretty much together the whole way apart from different to 14

felt better so just went slow and kept an eye on hr- don't want legs to feel stiff on saturday but slow is good
