RUNNING 7:00 [3] 1.2 km (5:50 / km)

ORIENTEERING race 45:07 [5] 6.5 km (6:56 / km) +210m 5:59 / km
shoes: ions 8 rocklike 2nd pair

Day 6- 6th on the day and 4th overall. Went for a safe race and screwed up . Overshot 3 and lost a bit then no 8 lost over 2 mins when I got close to the control and there was a big open bit on the hill. Walked around trying to relocate thinking I'd screwed up but I was in the right place. That bit of the map didn't make sense to me at all and it wasn't how I thought it would be. Screwed up 9 and 10 too so quite frustrated i lost out on 3rd place but I think I've got to be happy with the result in beating all the second years. My non counting result being 6th and 8th proves it wasn't a fluke and I think swapping my compass round has improved me a lot

ORIENTEERING race 42:05 [5] 7.2 km (5:51 / km) +215m 5:05 / km
shoes: ions 8 rocklike 2nd pair

Day 5- 1st by 2.55. Nearly perfect race only a 30s mistake at 12 and hesitation at 7. Nailed the long leg by staying up on top of the hill where I didn't have to read my map and just run. Felt really strong the whole way and so happy to get the win.

RUNNING 8:30 [3] 1.3 km (6:32 / km)

Day 4- came 4th 90seconds behind Matt. When I came in I thought I'd had a solid run maybe even better than day 3 so was disappointed to be 4th and only 10 and 40s behind David and flurry as oscar was 5 mins further down in 5th. Messed up 1 and 2 by about 30s each being slightly too low then lost more time being cautious on the short leg to 3. Managed to gain 40s on everyone on the long leg by dropping down off the path and climbing straight up rather than going all the way round. Lost that 40s on number 6 by going low in the forest rather than up the hill but I guess it was safer. Lost another minute at 8 by being in the wrong ridge in the marshy bit. Legs felt great the whole way round and opened up 15-20 second on the steep uphill to 9. A longer and harder course would've suited me slightly better but oh well day 5 and 6 could be good

RUNNING 7:16 [3] 1.1 km (6:36 / km)

Warm down. Got back to campsite at half six after collecting controls which was shit

ORIENTEERING race 45:25 [5] 7.1 km (6:24 / km) +156m 5:46 / km
shoes: ions 8 rocklike 2nd pair

Day 3- 2nd to Matt. Well happy with my race when I came in and knew I had a good chance of the win until Matt came in and beat me by 2 minutes. Pretty much as clean a race as I ever get only a few minutes of mistakes. Liked the look of the course and decided to go for it and legs felt great. Biggest mistake was number 10 on top of the hill where my plan was to run to the ruined wall but ran straight over without noticing. Ended up at 13 which cost me minute and half. Looking at WinSplits though I was still beating Matt until no 16 in the green near the end. Overshot it and had to relocate of an elite control lost a minute. Messed up 17 and 18 too with shite route choices and fell another minute back. Was a bit gutted when I looked at splits but still good result. Want to get two more top 5s and drop day 1s result but day 4s technical so I'm screwed

ORIENTEERING race 53:20 [5] 7.6 km (7:01 / km) +150m 6:23 / km
shoes: inov8 mudclaw 300 green

Six days day 2. 5th m16 which is a better result. Still annoyed with some stupid mistakes in the technical bit that cost me about 4/5 minutes then another one later on from seeing a control on a river assuming it was mine then taking ages to relocate. Bad route choice to 15 but legs felt better then yesterday. 8 minutes off pete
