RUNNING 33:36 [3] 5.66 km (5:56 / km)
shoes: X-claw 275s

wu and wds featuring the wrong way to the start with ali and an angry pete after he messed up the run in

ORIENTEERING 24:22 [3] 4.16 km (5:51 / km) +105m 5:12 / km
shoes: X-claw 275s

JHI relay- 2nd with matt on first leg
took it easy on the run out which paid off as got to no.1 in 1st. pushed up the hill ahead of jim and flurry and let them find the control similar style to last week but then found myself on my own gaffle to 3 which was scary but the pack came together again to 4 and 5. matt came through and i stuck with him through 6 and 7 and we pushed on to 8. looked behind coming out of 8 and we had a healthy gap. had the same raffle for the rest of the course so matt navigated while i ran after him shouting out codes. didn't do anything stupid and cruised round to come in on his shoulder (wasn't gonna be a dick and overtake). pete worked his ass off after screwing up 1 to come in just behind us and then england was 3 minutes down. job done big relief

same team as last week and same 4th despite a valiant effort from finlay and ali but it didn't matter with a 1 2 in the boys and a hefty overall win. all the talk of missing 18s at JEC was a pile of shite you can't win the JHIs with 18s we won every single class yesterday and joe was sent out on last leg today with a five minute lead so yeah, good one

really well organised weekend-so much fun- thanks to everyone

ORIENTEERING 42:55 [3] 6.06 km (7:05 / km) +150m 6:18 / km
shoes: X-claw 275s

JHIs 3rd on the individual behind matt and flurry (and pete at the last control). came in early and thought i'd done decent had felt strong running so disappointed to be so far back on matt and flurry but fair play to them. the usual amount of scrappiness in the circles inc 1, 4, 5 at the star losing 30 seconds wish at each one. went up to the ride for 6 and was pushing but matt and flurry took a straighter router and beat me. tbh after messing up 5 i think what i chose probably was the best route for me and had a good line into the control. lost 40s downhill to 8 just drifting a lot to the left and then scrappy again at 12 and 15. solid result tho and nice to count for the team and get on the podium for once. great team result too easy win for scotland

enjoyed the area but didn't really agree with the course. the winning time shouldn't be sub 40 but it always is now and the courses are always too short. a hilly scottish area with only 150m climb??? there are hillier park runs tbh. moving on up next year thankfully can't be doing with 40 minute courses

RUNNING 29:06 [3] 5.01 km (5:49 / km)
shoes: Inov8 roclite 290

Went easy to try and have helpnthe doms. Legs feel fine after except left quad which still feels bruised and sore. It’s been sore since straight after race and maybe it’s from my fall on the run out. Didn’t need notice at time cos of Adrenalin but fact it tightened up straight afterwards might be why

Note

Doms. Should’ve warmed up more than a K yesterday legs suffered and I think made worse by a 9 1/2 hour journey home. Consolation Burger King and choccy milk tbf.

Easy jogging tomorrow and Wednesday buzzing for the weekend and the October break after
