RUNNING 4:23:54 [3] 26.93 km (9:48 / km) +2141m 7:01 / km
shoes: X-claw 275

Decided to do a big one after feeling good yesterday, and had wanted to do this route after having the lamm map stuck on my wall for the past year.

Dropped off at the side of the road and straight up Uisgneabhal Mòr, which was really nice ridge running. Down to the glen then a slog up Cleisabhal, and more awesome ridge running over Oireabhal and Ulabhal before descending to foot of Tiorga Mòr. Brutal 350m climb in like 800m up Tiorga Mòr, and narrowly avoided the bonk by tanning a few thousand calories of fruit and nut. More lovely ridge running off the top, down to the bhealach then a slog and a half up Huisabhal Mòr, which I can’t imagine how the lamm elites managed after 8 hours of running. Garmin had shown low battery from about a km in but somehow survived all the way up to here and crashed on the four hour mark, but luckily was rescued by Strava mobile and could coast the final downhill into Huishinish (where nish the kitten was derived from) knowing my gpx was safe. Was dead but could still jog so was happy

A nice one on Harris. From urghal outside Tarbert, up the track through glen lascadall to meet the road and follow some TDF zig zags to the foot of Todun. Slog up to the ridge but then such a nice grassy hill which I’d never been on with awesome views. Met mum coming down the ridge and descended down to reiningdhal to take the trail back over to urgal. Really nice run

RUNNING 1:58:28 [3] 22.27 km (5:19 / km) +342m 4:56 / km
shoes: Roadclaw 240

Beautiful day and longest sports day race was 200m so set out for a long one. Boring canal then up dunardy hill for the first time as mum said it was good, and got an awesome view of moine mhor, cruachan and mull. Another new 3km trail for me through the woods to dunadd which was quite boggy with boardwalks but dry thanks to the heatwave. Got lost coming back to achnabreac then the nice back road into Lochgilphead. Threw the top in a bush as soon as I was out the school and went taps aff whole way, including through town where I got some looks of disgust but they can go away it’s only 20 degree once a year here. Set a PR for fastest time chugging a 1l Tesco choccy milk when I got back in. 700 calories in one- not bad

RUNNING 2:21 [3] 0.8 km (2:56 / km)

Persuaded PE to put on an 800 and won by a good bit. Was aiming for below 20 but I’ll take it after the half marathon. They get as many people to do the 800 as possible so lined up with about 50 boys and girls trying to get completion points for their clan. Told them all to move out of first lane when they were getting lapped but still had to bash my way around after the second lap. Ended up helping dunadd get the win for the first time ever yassss mon eh bois
