ORIENTEERING 38:00 [3] 5.22 km (7:17 / km) +279m 5:45 / km
shoes: roclite g 275's

JHI relay- a 1 2 3 with Pete and Matt on last leg to secure the overall win! Things were not looking good for us after England 1 2 3 on girls first leg and a 1 2 3 4 on the boys, but Sam put in a mad shift to be only a minute or so back and sent out Jonas, who ran an absolute belter of a second leg to send me out within 30 second or so of Stan and flurry.

Knew flurry’s team had dq’d and I just had to get ahead of Stan, and caught then both up by 3. Let them nav for a few before Stan got lost and it was just me and flurry. Was wary we weren’t pushing too hard but didn’t take the risk of going off in front in fear of messing up and David coming through, no idea of the madness going on behind me. So a cagey game of stalking/cat and mouse followed between myself and grierson but having him to work off helped a lot in the thick dark woods. We got caught up in a whole load of brambles coming down the hill toward 15, and had no clue where we were, actually ended up at 16 before 15 (only like 50m apart). Coming back across the hill to no16 heard some twigs crack and into the control site flew Pete and Matt. I actually screamed and knew then we were gonna get the 1 2 maximum points, can’t describe the adrenaline/relief/happiness that came at that point. Down into the finish and across the line in between Pete and Matt to only then fully clock we’d taken the overall with some awesome efforts from the girls to claw us back also. So so proud of the whole team but also Sam and Jonas, first JHI for the both of them and incredible. What a weekend I honestly don’t think that can be topped

JHI individual in the lovely sunny mournes-5th and 12 minutes down. Had high hopes for today but lost 7 minutes on a tiny wee leg up a hill 4-5. Switched off cos I was chasing Stan and darragh and payed the price big time. Got lost in the forest as well and tbh was pretty gutted at the finish, and also most of the team seemed to be coming in saying they’d done bad. Turns out the girls absolutely smashed it to give us a one point lead into the relays

RUNNING 43:00 [3] 7.67 km (5:36 / km) +140m 5:08 / km
shoes: roclite g 275's

Driving back from Glasgow and dropped off at Loch coille bharr then cycled back after. Magic run around the woodland trails with the sun setting on the loch. Less enjoyable cycle home, steered round a flood and into a pothole, over the handlebars. Luckily was going so slowly that it was just a fall so came away only a bit bruised
