Sunday Mar 30

Event: Joburg Zoo, Gauteng Short Course Final

Orienteering race 23:13 [5]*** 3.6 km (6:27 / km) +60m 5:57 / km
(sick) shoes: Salamon XAComp2
Short course series final. I won the series last year but knew i had only an outside chance today. In the end i finished 3rd for the day and 3rd on the log. Not having an event to drop cost me as Alex, Jeremy and myself have each won 2 events. The map was good and the added intesst of it being of a zoo was nice. Did see a few animals but that was not the goal. Still sick from last weeks cold and that cost me, was slower on the pure running legs where i would have been the fastest posibly. Made some errors also most notably at 9 and then a poor route to 16 also cost me. I was less than 20s behind the winner so i think without the errors i would have won as alex and jeremy both made mistakes. Next year though i would like to win again.
