Training to improve our navigation skills under the Red line. It wasnt allowed to take paths. I lost 2:30 minutes in my way to 5th control because I couldnt execute the routechoice I had thought (which was through a big path). At the end of the control I did a parallel mistake. The rest was okey.

The last training in Sweden. The typical swedish forest with great accuracy on map making, especially on contours.

Rorri and I decided to test our compass and navigation skills with a challenge. We setted that the winner would have to go the more straight he could.

For me, this training was mainly to cool down as today was a resting day. I only made a little mistake in 11th control. The rest of the training went quite well. And about the challenge, I won it but I was slower than Rorri.

Rorri: 59 minutes (8.03km)
Alvaro: 62 minutes (7.7km)

I really look forward to going again to Sweden :-)

Orienteering (10Mila (8 leg)) 1:33:48 [4] *** 14.5 km (6:28 / km) +200m 6:03 / km
spiked:19/21c shoes: VJ Bold

For me 10Mila was a great experience full of lights and shadows. The bad thing came with the disqualification of the team due to a broken headlamp on "Langa Natten".

The team's performance was being awesome taking the 39th place. Rorri (our 4th leg) started out running with a group of top runners. I was following his performance in live from the live results and suddenly I realised that he didnt pass through the second radio control... After 30 minutes waiting to see him I started being troubled of him (thinking of a possible injury because Rorri is quite good and it was hard to think of 30 minutes mistake). Fortunately he appeared 45 minutes after in the finish with the broken headlamp.

After this, the rest of the team decided to run our leg even if we were out of official results.

My race was almost clean, technically without big mistakes but also without motivation, so I didnt push as hard as I would like if I competed.

Anyway, a great adventure. Thanks to Attunda for everything and Im sure in Jukkola we will do our best.
