I've put my gps distance and rough cumulative climb. Had a really good run navigation-wise. Can see this from the splits, where it only shows one mistake - I shouldn't have run on the path to 19. I did hurt my left foot at CP4 and had to be careful in the terrain. I managed to pick up a blister on that foot probably a result of adjusting my foot position. Also managed to take a big tumble on the way to 14 - lots of blood, but nothing serious.
The only thing that let me down was the fitness level.

GOC Middle - did M21. Wasn't feeling strong up the hills - poor training recently is showing. Had a major problem on 11 and less of one on 12. There were problems with the map to 11. Unfortunately I didn't look uphill, but went searching below. Also 12 appeared to be in a smaller re-entrant. Otherwise fitness was the problem.

First ride on my new MTB. Pity it was so windy and that my legs are cycling fit. Enjoyed playing with the front shock lock-out and the smooth gear changes. Disc breaks are also a winner.

Warm-up on the stationery bike & rowing machine 5-6mins each. Then did a series of core exercises and stretches. Recovered well from the 3000m TT

After struggling for the past few weeks, I decided to go out targeting a 12min run. After 4.5 laps I decided there was plenty more in the tank and picked up the pace. Quite happy with my 11:17. With a few more weeks of good health I can definitely go faster.

2nd km: 3:54
3rd km: 3:43

Dressed up warm for the national squad time trial at WEC. Warmed up and cooled down nicely on the track.
