Easy run warm up/down 30:00 [3] 4.0 mi (7:30 / mi)
shoes: Asics Fuji Trabuco 4

Race race (LT Hawkeshewad) 1:15:28 [4] 10.05 mi (7:31 / mi) +519m 6:28 / mi
shoes: Asics Fuji Trabuco 4

I decided not to go off like an idiot!! The first climb was challenging and just tracked the runner in front. On the down hill I overtook him and came within 20m of another runner who overtook me at Cartmel and beat me by 2 mins. We crossed each other a few times, overtaking a couple of runners and shortly before the 'Coffin' climb I overtook him and increased my lead going strongly up the Coffin climb. I eventually ticked off another runner who said'I thought I was fit, but this is too much'. Once you got to the top the climb the rest of the race was a 2 mile downhill section. Not my best running. Thought I was more relaxed and flowing downhill, but 2 runners caught me with about 400m to go. I overtook them with about 200m to go, but must of started too early and they took me with seconds to go!
Overall good race- was strong uphill, fast on the level and road sections, but lost time downhill

Steady Run (with 6 speed variations) 1:15:09 [3] 10.27 mi (7:19 / mi) +114m 7:04 / mi
shoes: Kayano 22 (Blue)

Enjoyed the run, kept steady pace, probably too quick at times and ran steady up the hill. Felt a bit battered at the end, but ran speed variations on rugby field.

Steady Run (6 hill climbs) 1:18:26 [3] 10.65 mi (7:22 / mi) +194m 6:58 / mi
shoes: Kayano 22 (Blue)

Ran 6K uphill at steady pace then ran 6 x60s hill climbs. Really starting to feel like old self- steady pace felt like I was crusing-kept pace about 4.25 min/K. The climbs went well- felt that I was maxing out towards the end. Had about 6 miles steady after climbs which felt great. Only slight niggle in L glute, hopefully strength training is sorting problem out. Due to see Duncan next Tuesday and will ask him for his advice.

Steady Run (With 6 hillsprints) 1:17:33 [3] 10.0 mi (7:45 / mi) +165m 7:23 / mi
shoes: Kayano 22 (Blue)

Felt a bit sore today after 60 squats the day before. AS the run progressed I felt much better and ran with a steady pace. Ran the 6 sprints up a steep path- strong and explosive. Did strength and flexibility routine afterwards. Hopefully stop feeling stiff soon...

Easy run 2:00:14 [2] 12.34 mi (9:45 / mi) +288m 9:05 / mi
shoes: Asics Fuji Trabuco 4

Ran along coast again- really muddy with steep gradients in places so was slow going. Decided to run along road from Boarhills because didn't want to face mud on the way back. Ran straight after getting up, missing breakfast. Felt strong, L glute was sore again- had been feeling fine lately. Think back was stif after long journey. Will book in for massage while on holiday this week.
