shoes: Asics Fuji Trabuco 4

1 mile warm up, 3 tech exercises which I enjoyed, legs felt better after. My body feels tired this week, guess the marathon has taken it out of me, need to be patient!

Thought I would do a double today. Easy 6 mile leg turnover before work- cool conditions. Felt a bit better this morning, slept well

Steady Run (With 6 hillsprints) 1:17:06 [3] 9.6 mi (8:02 / mi) +120m 7:44 / mi
shoes: Kayano 22 purple

ran at about 7.20 pace, had a slightly sore R knee- when I kept the cadence high/stride shorter it felt fine. Did 6 hill sprints at about 90% effort. Felt a bit off today- sore tummy, hopefully feel better tomorrow.

Took last night off as I had podiatrist appointment- nail sorted! she cut if off and burst a blood blister which relieved the pressure. Feels much better but wanted to give it a rest overnight.

Race race (Coniston Marathon) 3:36:46 [4] 26.2 mi (8:16 / mi) +929m 7:27 / mi
shoes: Asics Fuji Trabuco 4

Hot, hot, hot!!! Started at 9 am (18oC) and noticed temp in car later was 27. Very little shade, glad I put suncream and hat on. Ok negatives finished with...

I kept a decent pace at the start, was in about 14th and let a lot of people go. Ran with UD vest and 2 soft bottles. Throughout the whole race I overtook , but in last 5 miles heat was unbearable, terrain was crappy (roots, rough single track) so pace dropped. I had 8 gels, lots of coke after 15 miles, but still felt empty in last 5 miles. Maybe it was due to the heat. I need to check my calorie intake per hour with the gu gels .

Overall, very enjoyable race, demanding with tough conditions. My legs feel fine, 2 more black toe nails, but L glute, R foot feel ok.
