Forced rest day yesterday due to work commitments. Felt fresh today, ran strong, no niggles. Kept very consistent pace, most of the miles were 6.53 pace.

Ran on trails and grass around River Mersey. Beautiful hot evening. Legs felt ok, L glute felt tender tonight but didn't affect my running. Felt fine at the end. Guess muscles still sore from the 50K

Race race (50K British champs) 3:28:46 [4] 31.1 mi (6:43 / mi)
shoes: Adidas Boston

Day started off cool, but first 12.5K was into a strong head wind. The temperature increased substantially throughout the rest of the race. The last 12.5k was really hot, and the splits dropped.
Splits
1-5 mile: 31:19
6-10 mile: 31:16
11-15 mile: 31:35
16-20 mile: 33:01
21-25 mile: 34:45
26-30 mile: 37:51
31 mile: 7:25
After the first lap I was going well, but start of the 2nd lap I got a bit flustered trying to put the next 5 gels in the belt, then the head wind was strong again and the pace slipped a bit. Also a blister started to annoy me on sole of Rt foot.
Pleased with result, but need to work on the pace, maybe 32mins per 5 mile to start with
