Ran Ambleside to Grassmere route of UT55K. Found some of the sections pretty tough, esp from Glenridding to Grizedale. Most of that section was unrunable and it seemed to be climbing for miles, then the decent into Grasmere was slow too. Av about 12 min/mile, started to bonk after 2.45 hours so last hour was good training. I bought a new pair of trainers from Pete Bland sports: Scott Supertrak. Tried Salomen, but found toe box too restricting. The Scott are really comfortable, aggressive tread but run well on tarmac. Unfortunately my Rt big toe was hitting the front of the trainer on decents so need change the lacing.

Althought there are some slow sections there are plenty of fast runable sections, mainly on tarmac

ran first 4 miles with Heather. Ran relaxed and did not push it at all, nice easy run! My body feels great at the moment, feel I have recovered well after the 50K. No pain in the glutes, hamstrings.

Easy run mostly around Mersey. Did 6 diagonals on football pitch. Felt strong and legs were ok

Ran around Lyme Park. It's a bit different to running on flat roads! I kept my effort steady, had some decent climbs. Felt good, no problems. Found in less impact than tarmac

Easy run, but got a bit carried away at the beginning. Did 7 hill sprints. L side felt a bit tight, but ran well

I was tired today as I had been working in the garden all day. Thought I would to the run at easy pace, but once I got going kept the pace at 7.15 which felt ok. My left side feels at bit tight. Seeing Duncan on wednesday so will ask hime to work on it
