SE training 3:59:43 [3] 28.48 mi (8:25 / mi) +300m 8:09 / mi
shoes: Asics Fuji Trabuco 4

The forecast was foul for the morning so decided to run from home. It rained heavily for the first 120 mins, but then it dried off. Ran on the trails around the River Mersey. Kept the pace comfortable. Ran with running vest and one bottle of electrolyte. Started to feel a bit empty after 3 hours, but kept a decent pace to the end and not slowing. Was tempted to have a gel, but avoided then altogether. It was good time on my feet, ran consistently with going into fat utilisation. Downside was no elevation, but the weather would of worst in the hills. Will be going to Lakes again next week.
Legs felt ok, Lt glute was a bit sore, but freed up in the latter stages. The trabuco felt ok, but my feet are sore now.

Easy run 45:08 [2] 5.88 mi (7:41 / mi)

Ran in Brooks Cascadia 10 tonight. Just wanted to try them out. They were pretty comfortable, but not ideal running on paths along the canal.
Just ran easy so I would be prepared for the morning

easy pace. Big toe feels fine now, I'm still not happy with which trail show to wear?? The trabuco didn't feel comfy today, maybe there a bit worn out?? Might order a pair of cascadia- had a pair before and they were really good on long runs

Good session- pace ranged from 8.8 to 9.8KPH incline 10-12%, had to dig deep at times, but job done. Toe is feeling better, no more daft trainer decisions!!

Easy run 45:43 [2] 5.56 mi (8:13 / mi)

Ran on grass at really easy pace. Ran in new Scotts but big toe was bloody sore as it was hitting the front of the shoe- think I'm going to ditch them! expensive lesson.

Wore the Trabuco today as big toe was bruised and sore. They were really comfortable, but was not as confident down hill as the grip was not as good as the Scotts. I did slip on loose gravel one point and landed on my arse and have a big bruise for my efforts! That happened after about 3 miles and had pain throughout the rest of the run. I don't think it affected my stride, but it still hurts! I think if I had the Scotts on it would not have happened so one of my main aims over the next few weeks is to get used to the Scotts.

Again I found a large parts of this route difficult to run on- it was more like a hike. Guess I will get more confident and faster with more experience.

I started running about 7.30am, no breakfast, no gels. Energy levels felt good and started to dip after about 3 hours.
